Ooh! Nice Rug!

Saw this Aztec rug and just had to share.

It's from Urban Outfitter's arty homeware range, and - get this - it's only 15 quid! Completely on-trend for this season with its Aztec vibe, it's - well - one hell of a nice rug. Wouldn't you agree?

Aztec Flower Rug, £15 from Urban Outfitters.

Ooh! Sparkle Hour

My, oh my! Have you seen the Sparkle Hour dress

With us all talking Oscars yesterday, and the onslaught of super-glam frocks for awards season, it seemed fitting to bring you something equally as special as the dresses that Gwyneth et al wore on the red carpet, but for a fraction of the price.

I don't have somewhere to wear this incredible, gold embellished dress to just yet, but I'll find an occasion. Oh, I will...

The Sparkle Hour Dress, £160 from French Connection.

Ooh! Juicy Jellies

How cute are these? They're the jazziest jellies I've seen so far this season!

These peep-toes will be just as great for walking the city, as they'll be for the beach, come Summer. And if hot pink is not your thing, then you'll be pleased to know they're available in dusty pink and black too.

Ooh! Tribal Thing!

Those who check back regularly will have heard me raving about Warehouse's new season dresses more than once before. But here I am again, with another, spot-on, Warehouse beauty - the Silk Colour Block Tribal Dress.

Where to start? In its bright hues, and bold patterns, it nods to Missoni - I like that. On a personal note, the halterneck is perfect for keeping me in proportion (small waist, shapely butt), and - one for us all - you just know it'll look great with a tan.

What's more, this dress looks like it could have been expensive, and that's certainly no bad thing...

Silk Colour Block Tribal Dress, £65 from Warehouse.

Ooh! Super Scarf

Ted Baker have got some AMAZING printed scarves in at the moment. Hard-pressed to commit to naming a favourite, I've opted for this one - Dando - of a dandelion field, on a Summer's day.  It's just gorgeous. And it's 100% silk...

You must, must, must have a peek at the full range!

Ooh! Perfect Pay-Day Treat

I'm not sure how, or why, these incredible wedges have been off my radaar thus far? But anyway, now I've seen them, I. Want. Them.

(And it's pay-day today, which means, that anything is possible)

I mean, just look at the heel! It's so artfully cut, and crafted. And they're wooden. I love that about them. You can just imagine these wedges paired with floaty tea dresses; your florals, geo-prints, or even that House on the Praire check.

They're cute, as.

Pulled Tide Wedges, £178 from Anthropologie.

Ooh! Good as Gold

Ladies, check these blingin' gold jeans! Wow-wi-woo-wah!

I'm seriously impressed. They're completely fabulous! I like these metallic skinnies because, yes, they're gold, but they're not in any way, shape or form, ridiculous, in that O.T.T., slave-to-fashion, sort of way.

These gold ankle grazers are spot-on. I'd wear with a thigh-skimming, swing top (not sure how I feel about my derriere being displayed in high-shine!) and some velvet, slipper-style flats.

Rose Gold Ankle Grazers, £40 from Miss Selfridge.

Ooh! How very vintage

I went through a phase of being a bit of a vintage freak, sifting through piles of bags and shoes, and flicking through endless rails of tea dresses and fur coats in East London.

Now, I'm less that way inclined. Don't get me wrong, I still appreciate a bit of vintage inspiration now and then, but I just don't wear it head-to-toe, all day, everyday.

This beautiful peony dress by my new fashion find, Tegan, satisfies my love for the vintage, just fine. And in a dusty purple, and subtle print, this dress is perfect pour moi...

Ooh! Hot Pink

Seeing as I'm off to Reiss' SS12 Fashion Week party later (eeee!) I thought I'd bring you something fun and party-ish from said brand.

Tah-dah! This is the oh-so-simple, chic, hot pink camisole from the new collection - a completely fuss-free top, in one of Spring's hottest colours. I'll be wearing mine with printed silk trousers, or waxed jeans and fashion flats.

Monday 20 February 2012

Ooh! Super Shorts

Love, love, LOVE these Sam & Lavi shorts!

They're not the super-super-short kind that only those blessed with endless pins can wear, but that thigh-grazing length that suits us all. Hurrah!

And they're lace. And I like lace, a lot.

Ooh! Orange Flatties

I'm really into my pumps at the moment. I've been thinking about swapping my faithful chelsea boots for a while now, and investing in some more Spring-like footwear. Goodness,  I even think I'm ready to show a bit of *gasp* foot flesh!

In tangy orange, these suede pumps are my favourite so far. I like that they're not too shallow in the foot (a sign they'll actually stay on your feet), plus by Ash, you can be sure they'll go the distance.

Instinct Suede Ballet Pumps, £99 by Ash @ Style Passport.

Ooh! Oversize Shirt

Sometimes you just need a really good, sexy, man-sized shirt (yes - you really do!)

There's nothing sexier and more chic than pulling off that 'I'm wearing my boyfriend's shirt' look without looking like you've tried too hard. Pair your oversize shirt with leather skinnies, chelsea boots and an artfully messy hair-do and, hey presto, you've done it.

Josh Oversize Shirt, £95 from Reiss.

Ooh! Tough Tassels

I saw this and my heart actually just skipped a beat.

Must explain - those who know me will tell you that have a majorrrr thing about tassels. And studs. And leather. But not in a fetish way, you understand. I just like that rock chic thing they have going on.

I already own a perfectly awesome leather tassel bag from H&M - that's served me well for a year or so, I might add - but I think it's time I upgraded...

Stud Tassel Bag, £75 from Dune.

Ooh! Cobalt Culottes

These culottes are super cute, and my new fashion fix!

Let's get this straight, though - I'm not declaring that I wear culottes all the friggin' time, or even that I've pulled on a pair since my Brownie days, buuut there's something about these babies that have got me interested.

First off, they're a stunning shade of cobalt blue. HOT! Secondly, they're half skirt, half trouser which really come into their own on a blustery day (come on, we've all been there, wishing we'd worn bigger pants that day). And thirdly, they're that midi length - the calf skimming, uber-flattering hemline du jour.

Pleat Front Culottes, £45 from Warehouse.

Ooh! Tweeting Tee

So I know there's still snow on the ground in most parts of the UK, but I'm dreaming of Spring - hanging out in the sunshine at the weekends and feeling as free as a bird.

That's why French Connection's Forest Friends Tee caught my eye, because it embodies that exact feeling. Being fun, carefree and...well, warm, all the while enjoying the company of friends in the sunshine. *SIGH*

Wear with coloured skinnies for now, and roughed-up denim shorts come Summer and festival season!

Forest Friends Tee, £32 from French Connection.

Saturday 11 February 2012

Ooh! Tutti Fruti

Imagine my delight when I came across this fruity ring from Ted Baker! Totally unique, this fun ring looks like those gummy sweets we used to make ourselves sick on as a kid - literally good enough to eat.

And if a raspberry's not your thing, then you'll be pleased to know there are lemon, plum and apple varieties too.

Yum!
Fruitia Ring, £49 from Ted Baker.

Friday 10 February 2012

Ooh! Lace Lovely

For me, KM sums up the new season perfectly in this canary yellow cotton lace skirt. High-waisted, intricately detailed, and in a fab, fresh colour. Yes, it's darling...

Styling-wise, it needs something completely fuss-free, that won't steal its thunder. A crisp white shirt, buttoned to the collar, and with the sleeves pushed to the elbow, will do the trick nicely. That, or a white jersey tee.
Cotton Lace Skirt, £140 from Karen Millen.

Ooh! Hot Heels

It's not often I'll consider practicality when it comes to fashion buys, but it's safe to say these wedged sandals tick the practical box for me.

Hang on, hang on, hear me out - to anyone who couldn't give two hoots about fashion, these wedges look dangerously high, unquestionably unstable, and "wouldn't your toes get cold"? Well, yes. All of the above may well be true, but for the rest of us mad lot, they're practical because they're versatile, and we'd wear these babies over and over again.

Black = you just can't go wrong with this fail-safe colour.
Wedged = happy feet! Soooo much more comfier than standard heels (read: last on the dancefloor)
Sandals = perfect for Spring/Summer, obvs.

Glimmer D Gladiator Wedge Sandal, £85 from Dune.

Wednesday 8 February 2012

Ooh! Satin Smalls

With V-day coming up, and all, it's as good excuse as any to invest into some beautiful lingerie.

Princesse Tam Tam's separates are subtly sexy, and that's why I like about them. Forget padded this, push-up that, and opt for a simple satin bra and knicker combo to set his heart on fire.

Bra, £33 and Knickers, £17 by Princesse Tam Tam @ Stylebop.

Tuesday 7 February 2012

Ooh! Snazzy Trews

The pyjama trend is not one you'd instantly think wearable, but it's quickly taking off, that's for sure.

One cool way to copy-cat the Stella McCartney look, is to pick up a pair of printed trousers that look like they could be a pair of silky, oh-so-sexy, PJ bottoms.

Got them? I have. These peg leggers are from Awear, and are spot on.

Printed Peg Leg Trousers, £30 from Awear.

Monday 6 February 2012

Ooh! Minnie Tee

This tee is too cute!

Ever one for a bit of nostalgia, this tee reminds me of a Minnie Mouse sweat top I used to own aged 9 or 10 yrs (circa 1995), but cooler, obv. And i'm sure that's why it's struck a chord.

Throw on with a pair of coloured skinnies (try cherry red or powder blue), fashion high-tops and a slouchy grey marl hoody for retro sports-inspired styling.
Minnie Mouse Tshirt, £9.90 from The Disney Project @ Uniqlo.

Sunday 5 February 2012

Ooh! Fur Fancies

Personally I'm made-up that the long awaited snow day has arrived! Nothing can beat a bit of frolicking about in the snow with your mates, or the boy, and generally being a big kid for the day.

So as I prepare for said snow ball fight, I'll be putting on my faux fur earmuffs (because no-one wants to declare themselves out, or down, just cause they can't hack the cold)

Saturday 4 February 2012

Ooh! Prom Pretties

OK so clearly I'm having a bit of a Miss S crush at the moment, but they've seriously upped the style ante! These burgundy bow block-heels have caught my eye because they'd go perfectly with a black mini dress i've been eyeing up for some time now (more of that another time..)

Seriously cute, they'll jazz up an LBD without looking like you've tried too hard, which is what - let's face it - we're all after.

Minimum effort + maximum style points = hot to trot, just like that.

Burgundy Bow Block-Heels, £58 from Miss Selfridge.

Thursday 2 February 2012

Ooh! Kickin' Knit

so today, there's only one topic on everyone's lips - the FRRREEZING cold weather! Yes, we may not be in Siberia, but we have hit sub-zero temperatures on our wee little island, and it's safe to say that we're feeling all -7 of it.

So, you can pile on layers of tops and cardis, but I prefer to pull on one super cosy jumper in times of extreme cold. Enter the Julsey from Reiss...Ta Dahh!

Made from merino wool, this pull-over is sure to keep you toasty.  And whats more, being the long length that it is, keeps you tush mighty toasty too! From a fashion point of view, it channels the 80s with its geometric design in a completely 'now' kind of way - just add big hair and statement earrings.
